The C.H.L Boro Liner is made of antique Japanese boro cloth. This exclusive item is fully hand-made.
‘Boro’ refers to a Japanese technique of mending and re-using textiles by layering and patching them together into a warm and practical fabric. The term derives from the Japanese ‘boro boro’, meaning something tattered or repaired. The C.H.L Boro Liner is constructed from a selection of rare, antique indigo boro clothes from the 19th century which have been carefully restored and repaired by hand.
The jacket has an oversized fit inspired by the liner of a vintage M51 US army parka, with a clean neck and voluminous sleeves. Featuring patch pockets, large interior pockets and a real horn button closure. Padded with wool and lined with a reversed Japanese selvedge indigo chambray.
We have created five of these special jackets and each one is unique in appearance. The jacket featured on our website is the only one available for immediate purchase.
Handmade in The Netherlands.
